My very first creature maquette sculpture!!

I am sorry for the lack of updates this week, but I have been so busy this past week with my creature maquette project. I put roughly 48 hours of sculpting over 5 days into this dude. He isn’t even finished yet but I am so happy how he’s turning out up to this point! The armature consists of tubing, wire, and aluminum foil. I used chavant n.s.p. clay. I have to say, I hate this clay so much. If it’s too cold, it’s hard to blend, and blisters your fingers. If it’s too hot, it’s easier to blend but still blisters your fingers. I still haven’t found the middle ground with this clay. The blisters on my left hand are from clay that’s too hot and the blisters are on my right hand are from clay that’s too cold. Despite that, I could not be happier with him! I was lucky enough to be taught by Alfred Paredes. I learned so much from him and I’m very thankful for the encouragement and knowledge he share with me.
