My back hurts so badly.

I’ve been seeing a chiropractor since January.

He did X-rays then and it turns out the curve in my neck is practically gone, I have scoliosis, my pelvis and hips are seriously out of alignment. I was told I have the back of a 65 year old and I’m only 26. It’s painful. I’ve been doing everything he told me to do. I’ve done all the stretches, I’ve used the posture pump, I’ve used the orthotics in my shoes, I’ve gone to the appointments and got all the adjustments (some of which hurt equally badly). I thought everything was helping.

Today I couldn’t get out of bed because it hurt so badly. This is the first time in 8 months that my back hurt so badly that I literally couldn’t get out of bed. The pain has been moving. My left arm hurt and I couldn’t really grip anything for a few days. Then it moved to my right hand. I’m terrified of this because I make a living off of my hands. Everything has been hurting exceptionally badly the last few days but today it was just so bad that I couldn’t move and it made me really depressed.

I thought about surfing the back pain tag on tumblr just to see if anyone has any remedies that truly work. I didn’t really find anything that I haven’t already tried. If you read this and are doing something that works for you, please share that with me. I’m getting desperate for pain relief.

  1. Hi i had spinal fusion surgery two years ago to correct a 65 degree thoracic curve & understand whar you are going through now. I found regular chiro adjustments very helpful but mainly seeing an exercise physio to build up strength was the most helpful. What degree is your curve?

    • When I got my X-rays done at the beginning of the year, I was told it was around 50. I’ve been going to the chiropractor for about 8 months now. I’m not sure exactly how much of a difference it’s made.
