It is so weird to be some where other than SoCal for the Halloween season.

Don’t get me wrong. I am so happy to be here and going to school in Pennsylvania but I really miss Southern California right now. My first pennsylvania haunt was terribly disappointing. The sets and costumes were beautiful and the makeup was pretty good, however, it really did’t  deliver on the scares. It relied heavily on drop door gags, which get really old after walking through a hallway full of them.

I did get to go to two of my favorite halloween events before I left California but it just wasn’t enough. I went to Universal Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights on opening night and the following night I went to opening night of Knotts Scary Farm. They both more than delivered on the scares. There were so many other Southern California haunts I wanted to go to but they just weren’t open before I left. My friends and industry people I follow on social media are starting to post stuff about the haunts they’re attending and it just hurts my little halloween heart. I’ve barely been gone a week and I’m already homesick.

To ice that cake, my parents are heading back to California and I am honestly sad about that too. This is the farthest away I’ve ever been from them. I know I can handle it but it just sucks.

My sincerest apologies for this sad saturday night post.

Side thought: the phrase <insert weekday here> night always sounded so weird to me. Why not call it Saturnight?
