I have been kind of “keeping up” with my perfume roulette idea. “keeping up” in the sense that I have continued to wear a different perfume everyday, and kept notes on scent notes, how it wears, how the scent evolves through out the day, etc. I just haven’t ben posting much on here because I’ve been busy with this job, dealing with personal issue, and maintaining my 6 days a week workout schedule, all while still trying to have as much fun as possible. Being an adult and having these responsibilities and trying to balance is very stressful. I’m starting to fear I can’t keep my head above water much longer. I put so much pressure on myself to succeed, not just at this job, but also at working out and reestablishing myself as a makeup artist, that I just feel so overwhelmed. If you have any advice on how to deal with this stress, please leave a comment. We can chat and exchange tips on how to deal with it.
Anyway! Here’s some perfumes that I’ve been wearing recently and what I think about them.
- Bright Crystal by Versace
The scent notes on this are iced accord, yuzu, pomegranate, peony, magnolia, lotus flower, acajou, vegetal amber, and musk. It’s very fresh, bright, and floral. as I wore it throughout the day it got sweeter. This one makes me think of my mom because she always wears it.
- Guilty by Gucci
The sephora website says this has notes of geranium, pink pepper, amber, and patchouli. This one smells like my grandma, very sweet and delicate
- Flight of Fancy by Anna Sui
This perfume has top nots of lychee, java lemon, and yuzu, middle nots of rose blossom, star magnolia, purple rain, and freesia, and base notes of amber crystals, skin musk, and white woods. I like this one a lot. It smells very light and floral.
- Nirvana Black by Elizabeth and James
This is my all time favorite perfume. It has notes of violet, sandalwood, and vanilla. It’s the perfect musky scent with just a hint of of spicy warmth. I just love it.
- Gold Couture by Juicy Couture
This perfume reminds me of my childhood. It brings back fond memories of those candy scented body splashes my older sister and I would get from the drugstore when we were kids. It has notes of wild berries, a kiss of honeysuckle golden amber, melted caramel, and vanilla. It’s a very sweet scent.
- Rosabotanica by Balenciaga
This is another one that makes me think of my mom because she wears it a lot. It has top notes of spicy rose, blue hyacinth, fig leaf, petitgrain, grapefruit, cardamom, pink pepper, on a base of white amber, cedar, vetiver, patchouli, and clean woody notes. The floral top notes really come through over the more earthy base notes. It smells so good and fresh. This is another favorite.
- Noir by Juicy Couture
I think it’s just a juicy couture thing to remind me of my childhood. They smell like candy to me. This perfume has nots of wild berries, mandarin, creamy vanillas, praline, jasmine, and honeysuckle. It’s a very sweet scent with a slight muskiness.
