In an effort to not keep posting the same stuff this month, I’ve decided to come at you with a little movie review. Just keep reading if you want to know what I think about The Houses October Built.
I have been going to haunted houses since I was 9 years old. I am 29 now just to put that in perspective. I have been a scare actor since 2011. I have been a professional special effects makeup artist since 2012. Needless to say, I love, and live for, the haunt industry. The last two weekends in September on through the first weekend in October are my favorite time of year. I truly come alive during haunt season! So needless to say, when I heard about the movie, The Houses October Built, I was super excited!
It’s about a group of friends who go on a road trip to find the most extreme haunts in America, interview the scare actors and document it on flim. On the way, they hear about this elusive, extreme haunt called and then once they get there, stuff gets real.
It’s definitely not the best movie as far as cinematic quality goes, but found footage movies rarely are. I feel like that’s just the nature of the genre. It tugs on my haunter heart strings, though. I am absolutely in love with the concept but not so much the execution.
I give it a 2/5. It’s on netflix if you want to watch it. Let me know what you think in the comments!
